My Assumption #1:    An abundance of people in every organization, at all levels, stress over the ineffectiveness of his/her boss as well as poor relationships with co-workers.  These two dynamics (ineffective Leadership and Teamwork) consume an enormous amount of wasted, non-productive time.  Obviously this time ‘could’ be spent producing your product or providing your service, and oh by the way making more profits.  RIGHT?,….waste = dollars.
**********************************************************************************

Your Organization’s Assumption #1    People are hired into organizations with well-developed skills sets of interpersonal communications, working through conflict, playing well with others, great relationships, teamwork understanding, respecting others, honesty, listening skills, trustworthiness and honesty…   This is true because we all come from solid backgrounds (families, previous models, school, society in general), where we have seen and now practice these traits/skills.   WRONG!, ………increasingly people are coming from dysfunction.

Your Organization’s Assumption #2    Anyone can lead people, once they have put in the time and developed the knowledge base about the product we produce/service we provide.    WRONG!  How has that been working for you?...and how did you get there?,…and I won’t even mention that sometimes becoming a manager/supervisor is about politics or education.

Your Organization’s Assumption #3     We can bring in some outside consultant/trainer to do TEAMBUILDING or do SUPERVISOR training (if/when we ever have any excess $ in the budget), and that will solve the incorrectness of Assumptions 1 and 2.   WRONG!, We are pumped for a bit, but then tomorrow my same screwed-up boss or co-worker will be there.
**************************************************************

My Assumption #2     Because of these three assumptions, ALL organizations are performing somewhere between 60-80% of what their potential is; realize this means only the ‘best of the best’ are performing at only 80%!   RIGHT?

My Assumption #3   Your organization (or team) and all others have become numb to these assumptions and unconsciously have accepted them as OK (to be only 75% productive); .and therefore you will continue to assume these things and do nothing. UH HUH ! JL, well there’s always pizza, giveaways, comp-time, picnics, cheese and fish programs…     Take care, DOUG
